The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office informed local Historic City News reporters that over the past three months, Special Investigations Unit Detectives and F.D.L.E. agents have been conducting undercover purchases of narcotics at the home of a St Augustine South resident.

At 10:00 a.m. this morning, SWAT team members surrounded the home at 364 Shamrock Road. Deputies, armed with a search warrant, entered the residence and located a Schedule II substance as well as ammunition.

Arrested at the scene was 62-year-old Verl Joseph Solano Jr., who faces charges of sale and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Solano was booked into the County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
