The St Augustine Community is encouraged to participate in this week’s three day, three event kick-off of the city’s mobility initiative scheduled for Wednesday through Friday, June 8, 9 and 10.
All of the events, a different one each day, take place in The Alcazar Room, City Hall, 75 King St., and are open to Historic City News readers and the public.
Complete information about each event and other information, including a link to the community survey, is available by clicking on the Mobility Update icon at the top of the page at www.StAugustineGovernment.com.
The three events
The most interactive part of the three days will be the open house on Thursday, June 9 from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Engineers, planners, landscape architects, and traffic experts with a variety of specialties will be on hand to listen to the community’s suggestions, answer questions about traffic management, and readily explain how the process of developing a master plan works.
Hosted by Littlejohn, the consulting firm hired by the city to help guide the mobility initiative process, public input received at the open house will become a very important ingredient in building the plan.
The other two events are the initial meetings of the Mobility Advisory Task Force on Wednesday, June 8, 5:00pm to 6:30pm, and a presentation by Littlejohn on Friday, June 10, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, That presentation will offer some of the initial findings from the community’s input including ideas, suggestions and special challenges.
Both of these meetings will be available for live and on-demand viewing at www.CoSATV.com and for live viewing on St. Johns County Government TV (GTV), Comcast channel 3.
The survey
One opportunity for the public to provide immediate input to this process is to complete a brief survey, just seven questions, about personal mobility issues and habits. The information will become part of the data to be used in these very early stages of the plan’s development. Take the survey by going to www.StAugustineGovernment.com and clicking on the Mobility Update icon at the top of the page.
