The Florida Heritage Book Festival invites all Historic City News readers to participate in a special day-long workshop, “Finding the storyteller in you”.
As a teacher, Connie Regan-Blake invites deep listening and telling on many levels.
“Together, we will create an encouraging, playful and appreciative community as we learn through oral exercises and story-partnering,” Regan-Blake told Historic City News in St Augustine, explaining her presentation.
Exercises and discussion topics include:
• Practice deep listening skills
• Discover your innate capacity as a storyteller
• Draw on personal and cultural images and memories to shape narrative
• Learn to “embody” your stories
• Cultivate and enjoy the bond that forms between teller and listener
“Regan-Blake’s approach is welcoming, powerful and fun; and her teachings can be useful in the corporate world, with family and friends, or on stage”
Tickets are $85.00 and the price includes a box lunch. Register and purchase tickets online at www.fhbookfest.com. The program will be presented on Saturday, June 4, 2016, in the Gamache-Koger Theatre on Flagler College Campus from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
