• St. Augustine Police received a call from “Stogie’s” Cigar Bar’s, Alarm Company that the business had an alarm going off. When officers arrived they found a male locked in the business. A key holder arrived to let the male out of the business; he stated he had visited Stogies the night before and apparently passed out in the men’s room.
Officers checked the business and found things to be in order, the male left Stogies at 0620 hours and the key holder secured their business and went on their way as well. 16-16545

• The police also received a call about a male walking down St. George St. carrying an open displayed handgun in a holster. Officers were able to locate the man who was in possession of paperwork stating he was licensed in N.C. to open carry a firearm. Mr. Gabriel Ortiz was told that Florida does not currently have an open carry law and he needed to conceal his weapon, which he did immediately. Mr. Ortiz left the area to enjoy the rest of his visit to St. Augustine. 16-16573

• A local resident reported receiving three different credit cards in his name through the U.S. Postal Service. He stated he did not apply for any of the cards and was concerned that someone was attempting to steal his identification and commit fraud under his name. He has notified his banking institution and credit card companies to freeze his accounts as he works through these issues.16-16605

• Officers charged a 16 year old with Criminal Mischief for punching and damaging a sign in a city owned parking lot at the corner of Spanish Street and Tolomato Street. 16-16636
