Last two Walks with the Mayor announced in St Augustine

The second annual “Walks with the Mayor” have been going just great. We’ve been reuniting with our friends from last year’s Walks as well as seeing new faces.

We’ve gained new knowledge and understanding of all the neighborhoods in our beautiful city.

“Residents have shared a camaraderie with Mayor Shaver while showing off their own neck of the woods and also discussing problems and concerns and ways to resolve them,” Jerry Peters told local Historic City News reporters. “It’s been a win-win for all.”

Peters has served as coordinator, cheerleader, chief cook and bottle-washer for the mayor’s walks for the last two-years. “I couldn’t have been nearly as successful with this project were it not for Jerry,” Mayor Nancy Shaver said.

We’ve just finished our seventh Walk this year; I think it’s time to buy a new pair of sneakers.

There are two Walks remaining. Realize you do not have to be a resident in these neighborhoods to join their Walks.

On Wednesday, June 8th, starting at 6:00 p.m. we’re walking the North Davis Shores neighborhood, starting in Oglethorpe Park, on the corner of Oglethorpe Boulevard and Arredondo Avenue.

And, last but not least, is the Lincolnville Walk on Wednesday, June 22th, starting at 6:00 p.m. We’ll gather outside St. Cyprian’s Church on the corner of MLK and Lovett Street. We look forward to seeing you there.
