A criminal investigation into charges that were first reported by Historic City News last month, has led to the arrest of Dionne Marie Younce, a 28-year-old physical education teacher at Allen D. Nease High School in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Younce was suspended with pay pending the outcome of an internal school district investigation on January 20th and later terminated by Dr. Joe Joyner, Superintendent of Schools.
Following allegations of an inappropriate relationship between the former Nease High School teacher and at least one 17-year-old male student, the investigation revealed that Younce had engaged in a sexual relationship with the teen on two occasions at her residence.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit obtained and executed a search warrant at Younce’s apartment located at 611 Ponte Vedra Lakes Boulevard yesterday. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was served late this afternoon.
Younce was booked into the County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond, charged with two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
