With transportation and mobility on the front burner again, now that the 450th Commemoration is no longer an excuse for more than four-years of deferred action, Historic City News continues to report water main breaks and their impact on local, downtown traffic.
This morning, the City of St Augustine prohibited much needed parking on both the north and south sides of King Street, between St George Street and Charlotte Street.
Public Works employees reported from the scene that a water main break on King Street at Charlotte Street was to blame. The department of public affairs has not informed reporters if a boil water notice will be issued or if the water in homes, restaurants, and other businesses supplied by that main is safe to drink.
