Bryn R. Winburn, Public Relations Manager for Matthews, North Carolina based retailer Family Dollar, reported to Historic City News that a special ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 21st, at the company’s newest store located at 840 West King Street in St Augustine.
The new, 8,000 square-foot store features Family Dollar’s newest layout, designed to make shopping easier than ever. This new store also offers a wide variety of national name brands and quality, private-brand merchandise at prices that are typically below those of supermarkets, drug stores and convenience stores.
“Family Dollar is thrilled to open this store in St. Augustine, and we look forward to becoming a positive part of this community,” said Gary Philbin, Family Dollar’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “This new store will not only provide shoppers with our everyday value and convenience, but will also create jobs in the community.”
Family Dollar shoppers will be greeted with fanfare and festivity as the West Augustine Family Dollar store celebrates its grand opening beginning at 7:30 a.m., hosted by the Steering Committee for the West Augustine Community Redevelopment Agency. This special event will include welcoming remarks from a number of officials representing both St. Johns County and the City of St. Augustine.
The grand opening celebration will continue on Saturday, July 23rd, when the store will host a variety of fun, free family activities, including a gift card giveaway to the first 50 shoppers, when the store opens at 8:00 a.m.
