Director of Communications for St Johns County local government Michael Ryan, cautioned that local beaches are forecast to experience nor’easter conditions Saturday through Thursday.
In addition, Historic City News readers may experience coastal flooding and erosion on all St. Johns County beaches for the duration of this weather event. Some pedestrian access points may be compromised, and on-beach driving will be restricted at all access ramps beginning Sunday.
Beach Services will inspect the beach throughout the week to reinstate vehicular access as soon as conditions allow.
Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to exercise extreme caution and avoid ocean swimming during this time. Expected conditions will include unusually high surf and tides, dangerous currents, and high winds along the coastline.
