A digital photograph by Jordan Baker of St. Augustine will be one entry, from more than 15 fine art, photography and illustration students, that Historic City News readers can enjoy as part of the annual Juried Student Exhibition presented by the Florida School of the Arts.
Susan Kessler told Historic City News that the gallery event will open to the public on Monday, April 11th and will run through Monday, June 27th in the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts Jack Mitchell Gallery located on the Orange Park campus of St. Johns River State College.
Gallery hours are Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., 90 minutes prior to performances, and through intermission. Admission to the galleries is free.
The exhibit will showcase the artistic progress of over fifty works by students majoring in photography, fine art and illustration according to graphic design – new media instructor and event coordinator Charles Marsh.
“The photographic images will include traditional black and white silver prints, black and white color digital prints, photomontage and digital media, with varied images ranging from portraits and landscapes to near abstract images,” said Marsh.
St. Augustine students exhibiting in this year‘s juried exhibition include Jordan Baker, Bruce Beall, Torrey Andrew Coates and Leslie Cox.
Florida School of the Arts is part of the academic and administrative structure of St. Johns River State College and awards a two-year associate degree.
