Northwest auto burglaries

Posted on 04/23/2008 By Historic City News

Two separate reports of auto burglaries were answered by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Northwest Sector Patrol Division yesterday; a global positioning system (GPS) device was stolen in each burglary.

Another similarity – the owner of each burglarized vehicle reported to deputies that their vehicles were left unlocked overnight.

In one case, Deputy Thomas Keisler received a report of a burglarized 2006 Ford Fusion located on Red Stone Court where a “Tom Tom” GPS was stolen sometime between 04/21/08 8:30 p.m. and 04/22/08 7:30 a.m.

The second case was reported to Deputy Michael Kunovich by a St. Johns resident on Honeysuckle involving the burglary of both of their two cars. The victim reported that a “Garmin” GPS was stolen from one of the vehicles sometime between 04/21/08 11:00 p.m. and 04/22/08 6:00 a.m.

Details have been forwarded along with the incident reports to the SJSO Property Crimes Unit for further investigation.
