Historic City News has learned that the St. Johns County Mental Health and the St. Johns County Public Library System are teaming up to offer free nutrition and stress reduction technique classes for children and parents.
The wellness sessions will begin next week and will meet at various library branches throughout St. Johns County, with each group facilitated by a Certified Holistic Life Coach employed by the County. All classes are free of charge and open to St. Johns County residents.
With the guidance of a Certified Holistic Life Coach, participants can receive a simple biofeedback reading and learn simple breathing techniques to assist in reducing stress.
Children can participate by taking a fun interactive stress test on the Center for Disease Control’s website, which is full of kid-friendly information on many health topics. Children can also play an educational game about nutrition, guided by the life coach.
Parents and children will learn together ways to increase nutrition and reduce stress.
The location, time and dates for each class are below. Please note additional dates and times may be scheduled, and residents may call the appropriate library for updates.
