The sheriff has asked Historic City News readers to help them identify and locate a man being sought in connection with an armed robbery of Walgreens Pharmacy located at 116 Blackford Way, in the new Food Lion Plaza near St. Augustine Shores.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, the robber walked into the pharmacy and handed the 36-year old male pharmacist a note demanding several narcotic medications then threatened the victim if he did not comply. The robber lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun.
The victim retrieved the medication and gave it to the robber.
A similar robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy in Volusia County occurred in Holly Hill the day before. The unknown robber fled the scene, but, not before being caught on surveillance video being captured inside the store.
The suspect in both robberies is described as a white male, about 5’8” tall, between 150-160 pounds with dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage shorts, dark shoes and dark sunglasses.
Robbery detectives are continuing their investigation.
