Historic City News has received notification from government offices in the City of St Augustine, St. Johns County, and the City of St. Augustine Beach that they will be closed Thursday in recognition of Veterans Day.
For St. Johns County government, all departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County Administrative offices, library branches and bookmobiles, the Supervisor of Elections Office, the Property Appraiser’s Office, the Tax Collector’s Office, and the Clerk of Court’s Office will be closed. Offices will reopen for normal hours on Friday.
The St. Johns County COVID-19 testing site located at the Wind Mitigation Building at 3111 Agricultural Center Drive will also be closed on Thursday but will reopen for normal hours, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, on Friday.
Garbage and recycling collection schedules will not be delayed in the county government’s service area, and the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road solid waste scale houses will remain open during standard business hours.
In the City of St. Augustine, city government offices will be closed on Thursday, but the solid waste collection will remain on schedule.
Parking in city-owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, except for the Castillo de San Marcos and the city parking garage. People should confirm that they’re in a City of St. Augustine parking lot before leaving their vehicle. Some private owners have towing policies.
In the City of St. Augustine Beach, all city offices will be closed on Thursday. Thursday’s garbage will be collected on Friday. But there will be no change in the yard debris and special collection schedule.
