Sallie O’Hara, Byway Program Administrator, reported to Historic City News today that along the A1A Byway you will find several farmers markets to enjoy each week during the summer months.
Every Wednesday morning until noon, the St Augustine Beach Farmers’ Market brings a mix of aromas, sounds and goods for sale to beachgoers. The St Augustine Beach Civic Association makes this all happen along with Music by the Sea summer concerts. Check out the lineup of talent, grab a seat and beat the heat as the sun goes down.
If Wednesday is not a good day for you, then try Saturday morning at the Amphitheatre for the Old City Farmers’ Market.
Summer concerts in the plaza occur on Thursdays.
And let’s not forget Flagler Beach Farmers’ Market every Friday and Saturday in Veterans Plaza.
On May 6th, from 6:00-9:00 PM, Veterans Park and the surrounding area will be the scene of “Music in the Park” with “Me N’ Ted,” “Foods of the World,” antique car cruise-in, and the first ever “Cardboard Castle Contest.” This will be a night for all ages to enjoy!
If you are interested in volunteering for the Taste of the Beach on May 15, 2011 at St Augustine Beach, contact St. Augustine Beach Civic Association sabca@staugbchcivicassoc.com for details on where to find music and more fun on a Sunday afternoon.
Contact Mary_Stanley@scenica1a.org for information on helping May 6th at the re-energized Flagler Beach First Friday.

The festival is one of the most celebrated of its kind in the nation — we are fortunate to hold it on Florida’s Historic Coast – an area featuring St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra and 42 miles of exquisite beaches.
Professional photographers, Bob and Sue Hanson, provided several beautiful birding photos recently for the new A1A video.
Sandy Spoonbill’s Story is being told under a different title, but the content remains the same – to let the world know of all the adventures available along the A1A coastal corridor. The video will be completed this month…so stay tuned.
