As part of their efforts to keep this holiday season safe, Historic City News has learned that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in Operation “Stay Alive on 95” beginning June 30th.
As larger volumes of motorists utilize the interstate to travel this holiday weekend, the potential for traffic crashes and the injuries related to them also rise.
“Our Traffic Enforcement and Traffic Crash Response Units will join with other agencies to address a variety of traffic safety issues such as; Aggressive Driving, Speeding, Safety Belt Usage and those who have had their driving privileges suspended” said Public Information Officer Sgt. Chuck Mulligan.
“The operation, which is a statewide, is being conducted to raise public awareness and gain the voluntary compliance of motorists traveling the interstate through a high police presence, and enforcement actions when necessary”, Mulligan said.
