Historic City News has scooped all other media on this report — Deputy Sheriff Charles “Kip” Brantley, a St. Johns County Sheriff’s detective, has surrendered himself to be locked-up to help Jerry’s Kids and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Between now and June 16th, Brantley is trying to raise $3,200.00 in “bail” to help individuals and families who are affected by neuromuscular disease.
“I’m excited to tell you that I have chosen to serve as an MDA Jailbird,” Brantley told Historic City News editor Michael Gold this morning. “I’m going behind bars until I find enough people to help raise my bail.”
Gold was the first to make a donation towards Brantley’s bail, “He’ll still need a lot of help but I know some people who can take some nice-sized chunks out of it,” Gold said. “Let’s see how charitable Historic City News readers can be.”
TO MAKE YOUR DONATION TO DETECTIVE BRANTLEY’S BAIL:
“If everyone I know makes a tax-deductible donation, I’ll reach my goal quickly,” Brantley said. “In order to be released on good behavior, I need your help.”
By clicking the link above before June 16th, you can make a secure, online donation to help this important MDA cause.
“This is a fun event,” Brantley told Historic City News. “I am honored to partner with MDA. Together we’ll make a difference!”
