Talmadge Schill Skinner, Jr., age 57 of St. Augustine, FL passed away at his home May 15, 2011. He was a native of St. Augustine and had resided here most of his life.
He was born September 7, 1953 to Ina Jo Varnell Skinner and Talmadge Schill Skinner, Sr. both of whom predeceased him. He graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1971, attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Pharmacy.
After working in South Florida a few years, he moved back to the St. Augustine area and worked at St. Augustine General Hospital, Flagler Hospital and various local pharmacies.
Mr. Skinner was a member of the St. Augustine Sports Club, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order of Stars and Bars, and the National Rifle Association of America.
Skinner was a brilliant medical professional as well as a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His bright smile and witty charm blessed all who were privileged to know him. His love of fishing and the Florida Gators will be remembered by all who loved him.
Survivors include son, Michael Skinner, sister, Greer Skinner Sullivan (Gary), nephew; Joseph Brock Sullivan, step sisters, Dottie Hudson, Cheryl Ashton, step brother, Joedy Ashton. Uncle, Gary Skinner, beloved surrogate mother, Mama Joy Bryant, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by step brother, Tony Ashton.
Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at Craig Funeral Home Chapel, 6:30 PM Friday May 20, 2011 Reverend Lyman Kirkwood, officiating. The family has requested those attending the service please wear Gator attire in honor of Phrog. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8384 Baymeadows Rd., Suite 10, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
