Interpreters added at Castillo in November

Lindsey Phillips announced to Historic City News that the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in St. Augustine is expanded their resources to serve the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.

Beginning, Friday, November 4, 2011, the Castillo de San Marcos will be offering interpretation services in American Sign Language for the popular Ranger Programs.

“Anyone may request an interpreter on Fridays at 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm,” Phillips told reporters. “Interpreters will also be available at each of our Saturday Ranger Programs, which start on 10:00 am and continue every hour, on the hour, until 4:00 pm.”

Visitors are asked to indicate at the entrance booth if you would like to make use of these services.

Phillips also reminded Historic City News readers that the Access Pass is available to U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents, and admits an additional three adults for free (children age 15 and under are free).
