Join in at The Harvest Muster at the Mission

Mark Schmitt announced to Historic City News local reporters that on Saturday, November 19, The Company of St. James will present a new, annual heritage event; The Harvest Muster.

The entertaining and educational activities will commence at 10:00 a.m. and continue to 3:00 p.m. at the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum located at 27 Ocean Avenue in St. Augustine. There is plenty of free parking off San Marco Avenue and Ocean Avenue.

The day’s activities will feature:

• portrayals of daily life in 16th-century Spanish Florida;
• displays of the foods of early colonial Florida, as well as cooking demonstrations;
• examples of Spanish colonial clothing, crafts, nautical arts, medicine, and weapons.

Historic City News readers will be able to enjoy this living history event as well as admission to the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum, free of charge.

The adjacent Mission Nombre de Dios Museum will be open for tours from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The Company of St. James is a member unit of Florida Living History, Inc., a non-profit educational organization.
