SAPD Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford reported to Historic City News that “The Voice of Lincolnville”, Carrie Johnson, led the local community in the Lincolnville annual Community Christmas Caroling.
The carolers showed their support to our elders as they went Christmas Caroling to The St. Joseph’s Nun Convent, The Buckingham-Smith Assisted Living Center, and The Samantha Wilson Bayview Senior Centers yesterday.
The Lincolnville Crime Watch, St. Augustine Police Department, St. Augustine Red Tour Trains, and many other citizens brightened the night of residents by caroling and passing out toys and homemade Christmas cards.
The cards were made by La Petite Academy, St. Augustine Youth Center, family members of the St. Augustine Police Department, and Gamble Rogers Middle School.
The “young at heart” enjoyed seeing the children as they sung the joys of this holiday. After the caroling was concluded the children were treated with cookies and hot chocolate as well as toys from Santa.
The toys were donated to the St. Augustine Police Department by various non-profit charities.
