In an announcement received by Historic City News from Linda B. Dixon, AICP, Assistant Director of Facilities Planning and Construction Division of the University of Florida, we were updated about meetings going on today regarding the State-owned historic properties in downtown St. Augustine.
The University of Florida is partnering with the St. Augustine community to engage in a strategic planning effort to preserve and maintain several buildings of historic significance.
To begin this effort, a project Steering Committee was formed that held its first meeting on May 20, 2008.
The second project Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for today, Tuesday, June 24th, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Record conference room. The meeting will be followed by a public open house from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in St. Augustine City Hall, Alcazar Room, 75 King Street.
The open house will provide opportunities for public input and will include a brief presentation at 6:00 p.m.
