Historic City News reporters have been introduced to a first-time-ever convenience for voters beginning at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning; made available by the St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes.
Early voting begins tomorrow at six locations around the county between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. each day, and, thanks to innovative technology implemented by the Elections Office in St Augustine, voters will be able to check online to see estimated wait times at each location.
“This is an awesome communications tool for us,” Oakes told Historic City News. “For those voters who need a little extra time to travel to an early voting site, or, for voters who are planning to vote on their lunch break next week, one-click can display wait times that are updated approximately every hour.”
The table of “wait times in minutes by location” can be seen AT THIS LINK or by clicking the link on the Supervisor of Elections home page. Oakes said it was designed to help voters gauge the best time to visit a particular voting site or if it would be better to select an alternative.
If you need assistance with the voting process, you are invited to call the Elections Office at (904) 823-2238 or Toll Free (888) 960-2959.
