St Augustine SWAT standoff ends in arrest

Historic City News has learned that a St Augustine man has surrendered to SWAT after barricading himself in a home in the Eagle Creek subdivision this morning; he remains in custody in the St Johns County Detention Facility without bond.

In jail at this time is 42-year-old Larry Dean Conway, who resides at 305 Eleuthera Court in St Augustine.

According to a sheriff’s spokesman today, Conway surrendered to authorities around 7 a.m. — after refusing to come out of the home for several hours.

Conway is facing one misdemeanor charge of first degree battery.
