St Augustine Police Department Corporal Charles Simpson informed local Historic City News reporters that the Criminal Investigations Division is seeking the identity and whereabouts of a man captured on surveillance video using a stolen credit card.
Sunday, October 28, a resident of South Matanzas Boulevard on Anastasia Island reported that a vehicle had been burglarized and items stolen included an i-pad, passports, and several credit cards.
At 7:30 p.m. on the same day, a man in his 20’s to 30’s, possible left chest tattoo, muscular build, goatee, wearing a distinctive fabric lanyard and tag, a white athletic undershirt, and a jacket that appears to have a colorful artistic imprint, entered the Walmart in St Augustine, and made a purchase using one of the stolen credit cards.
“Because of the type of items he bought, I believe the man who used the stolen credit card likely lives in the area,” Simpson told reporters.
