Save now on 2013 beach driving pass

Historic City News readers are invited to visit the St Johns County Pier, Tax Collector’s offices or the County Recreation and Parks Office, now through February 28, to purchase a pre-season beach driving pass and save $10.

Regulated beach driving is allowed through nine vehicular access points and beach driving ramps. Multiple pedestrian access points are located throughout the County; including eight beachfront parks that offer year-round free parking and beach access.

“Historically, driving on our beaches has proven to be a great way to enjoy the many opportunities available for recreation in St Johns County,” said St Augustine native and St Johns County Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth. “We are one of the few remaining Florida counties who allow driving access to more than 14 miles of beautiful beach coastline.”

St Johns County is offering beach driving passes at pre-season prices of $30 for County residents and $40 for non-residents. Beginning March 2, 2013 pass prices will increase by $10.

Through the St Johns County Beach Services Office, you can make an advance reservation to use beach facilities at sites offering an array of services — in addition to beach access. These locations offer facilities for a variety of public or private programs and events.
