Interpreters re-enact raid of Sir Francis Drake

Friday: June 4
PARENT’S NIGHT OUT
Let the professional staff at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park take care of your kids while you enjoy a night on the town. From 6-10 p.m., kids receive 2 slices of pizza, drinks, hands-on animal presentations, twilight zoo tour, a craft, nocturnal games and lots of fun! Open the kids ages 5-12. FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK
Join one of St. Augustine’s most popular cultural events on the first Friday of every month. Enjoy the latest exhibits, music, entertainment and refreshments at over 20 participating galleries – plus, great food courtesy of the St. Augustine Independent Restaurant Association. Tours begin at Rembrandtz American Craft Gallery, 131 King Street. Galleries are open from 5 to 9 p.m. St. Augustine Sightseeing Trains and Old Town Trolleys offer attendees a complimentary shuttle service to most of the galleries. ANASTASIA STATE PARK NATURE PROGRAM
Anastasia State Parks Ranger; Dean Cox will be giving a Nature Program about Tracks, Trails and tails. AT 7 P.M. at the Park’s Wind Surf Pavilion. Learn how to identify different species that reside in the park and its unique eco-system. This program is free with paid park admission. Anastasia State Park is located at 1340A A1A South in St. Augustine. Admission to the park is $8 per vehicle for up to 8 passengers and $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists. WILD DREAMS – DISCOVERING HENRY FLAGLER
See Henry Flagler brought to life in this critically-acclaimed performance by Paul Jellinek. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. at the San Marco Theater across from Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum in St. Augustine. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 children. LIMELIGHT THEATRE: DEATH OF A SALESMAN
Enjoy the classic Arthur Miller’s drama about Willy Loman, a salesman who is past his prime and sinking fast. The show takes place through June 20, at Limelight Theatre, located at 11 Old Mission Road in St. Augustine. Show times are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. matinees only. ANASTASIA STATE PARK’S 17th ANNUAL BEACH BASH
Enjoy a day of sand castle building, scavenger hunts, nature walks, and other fun family activities. This day of fun has activities for everyone, starting with a scavenger hunt and ending with a spectacular sandcastle/sculpture contest. There will be interpretive programs given by one of our park rangers, a Bird Walk, our famous “Low Tide Bike Ride”. Prizes will be awarded! DRAKE’S RAID
Relive history as the English corsair, Sir Francis Drake, and his raiders return to St. Augustine in an authentic re-creation of the 1586 sack of the city. Open to the public, the raiders’ camp at the Fountain of Youth Park features displays of the arms and armor, craft skills, and lifestyles of the period explained by costumed interpreters. In the late afternoon, Drake and his followers will descend on the city’s historic district. At 7 p.m., the battle will begin on Orange Street at the Santo Domingo Redoubt. FAMILY FUN DAY AT MARINELAND
Bring the entire family to Marineland’s Dolphin Conservation Center for an afternoon of fun and games. From 1 to 4 p.m., enjoy kid-friendly food, beverages, games, crafts, educational activities and DOLPHINS. From noon to 1 p.m., Captain Don Dingman, host of the Hook the Future TV show, will present interactive sessions designed to show young people how to become responsible anglers.
