Sherri Cunningham, Promotions Director for St Augustine’s upcoming Celtic Music and Heritage Festival, announced a special addition to local Historic City News reporters — this year’s events will feature the First Annual Celtic Whiskey Tasting, sponsored by Tullamore Dew.
Scheduled as one of the Friday night festival attractions, a limited number of ticketholders will be admitted when the doors for this special event open at 6:30 p.m. on March 8 at Francis Field on West Castillo Drive in St Augustine. The event will start at 7:00 p.m., a limited number of tickets are available for $30.
“We are proud to announce our Celtic whiskey tasting event celebrating the best in Celtic Whiskeys,” Cunningham told Historic City News. “We are honored to partner with William Grant and Sons USA, and Premier Beverage, to bring you a unique mixture of Single Malt Scotch and Irish whiskey.
Directing the inaugural event will be Florida native and certified spirit specialist, Ryan Charles; who has enjoyed over 12-years’ experience in the beverage industry. Charles was the first “corporate mixologist” for Republic National Distributing Co, appointed the Oxley “gin ambassador” in Dallas, Texas, and a consultant for bars and restaurants in Denver, Colorado.
He has also trained in Paris, France at the Cointreau Academie and recently completed the Master Apprentice course for Balvenie scotch in Aberdeen, Scotland.
“We will be featuring five total expressions from Tullamore Dew and Glenfiddich,” Cunningham told Historic City News this morning. “After all, it’s a Celtic Festival and we should to have Celtic Whiskeys.”
