St Johns County firefighters have announced to local Historic City News reporters that they will participate in the “Fill the Boot” fundraising event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Firefighters will be at several local supermarkets with their boots so that patrons and shoppers may give their dollars and change to help firefighters in their support of MDA.
Last year during the “Fill the Boot “ program, St. Johns County Firefighters raised over $21,000 for area children and adults battling neuromuscular disorders. This year we have a goal of $30,000.
Collections will occur at the following locations:
•The Shops at Palm Valley, 3777 Palm Valley Rd
•Johns Creek Center, 2845 County Rd 210
•Nocatee Town Center, Marketside Avenue
•Shoppes at Murabella, 84 Tuscan Way
•Moultrie Square, 4255 US Highway 1 South
•Anastasia Plaza, 1033 A1A Beach Blvd
•Cobblestone Village at St. Augustine, 125 Jenkins Street
•Vilano Beach Town Center, 55 Ava Way
•Shoppes at Mission Trace, 955 State Road 16
MDA helps children and adults who are affected by any one of 40 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA’s comprehensive medical services and research programs. MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees to those served by the Association.
Please take a moment to drop some cash into a boot when you see your St. Johns County Firefighters out at your local supermarkets collecting funds for the MDA.
