Drivers use caution in area of controlled burn

The Florida Highway Patrol has updated local Historic City News reporters that they are continuing to monitor a prescribed burn at this hour in the area of US-1 at Faver Dykes State Park.

Sergeant Dylan Bryan reports that visibility may deteriorate quickly due to smoke and fog conditions, especially during the night time and early morning hours.

“Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the area.” Bryan cautioned. “Motorists are reminded to reduce their speed as necessary to avoid a collision and utilize their low beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.”
