The 24-year old Flagler County man police tell Historic City News threatened to kill his girlfriend, her current boyfriend, and then, himself, is in Flagler Hospital in critical condition after an apparent suicide attempt that occurred inside his jail cell in the St Johns County Detention Facility.
Just before 5:50 p.m. last night, corrections deputies found Andrew Dane Dandurand, on his knees in his solitary cell. According to the report, Dandurand was unresponsive and not breathing. He reportedly had a sheet tied around his neck. Dandurand had last been observed in his cell about 20-minutes prior to the discovery.
Deputies began life-saving resuscitation measures until emergency medical personnel responded and stabilized the inmate for transportation to Flagler Hospital in St Augustine.
At the time of his arrest, Dandurand was armed with a stolen rifle. He has been in custody since June 15, 2014, in lieu of $500,000 bail. He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, with disregard for the safety of persons or property, and aggravated stalking, following, harassing, or cyberstalking that poses a credible threat to another person.
