Historic City News was informed that heavy rainfall in amounts of 3″ to 6″ impacted southeast St Johns and northeast Flagler counties today, with some of the heaviest amounts between St Augustine Shores southward toward Palm Coast.
A flood watch is in effect through noon on Saturday.
• Onshore flow will continue to bring waves of locally heavy rainfall across coastal St Johns and Flagler counties tonight and Saturday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be possible, which will cause flooding or exacerbate ongoing flooding problems on already saturated grounds.
• A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

• Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground. Remember; turn around don’t drown
• Unimproved roads will be slippery and may contain washouts.
