Community Affairs Bureau Commander, Charles E. Mulligan, confirmed to Historic City News that St Johns County is not under attack — despite more than 50 calls reporting loud booms from residents along a stretch of CR-210 West.
Mulligan says that, although he cannot confirm it, the Sheriff’s Office believes the powerful sounds were sonic booms of unknown origin.
“Numerous residential alarm calls have been received and are related to the boom,” Mulligan told Historic City News. “There are no signs of an explosion.”
