According to the public affairs department at City Hall, one of the most frequently asked questions about St. Augustine’s three day downtown street and music festival, planned to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the founding of the city, is “What bands will be performing?”
Thursday, only thirty-days since the announcement that the city was handing off the entertainment planning component of the 450th celebration to St Johns County Cultural Events Division general manager, Ryan Murphy, the City of St Augustine has a full cast of entertainers and performers lined up.
“It would be difficult to find performers who could out match the widespread appeal, long time reputation for quality entertainment and genuine respect from the public as these artists,” said Murphy. “Without a doubt we have found entertainment that is a perfect fit for our community and for this event.”
Friday, September 4: Aaron Neville and Mavis Staples
Headliners will be featured on Friday and Saturday nights on the festival’s main stage which will be located on the bayfront. Featured on Friday night, September 4, are Aaron Neville and Mavis Staples.

Saturday night’s lineup is packed with something-for-everyone musical entertainment with performances by Justin Townes Earle, JJ Grey and Mofro, and Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell.
Most stages will be located in a pedestrian-only area bounded by Orange Street, Cordova Street, Cathedral Place and Avenida Menendez.
The main stage will be located on the bayfront at Ponce Circle, just east of the Plaza de la Constitución and will feature a large audience area where alcohol purchases and consumption will be permitted.
