Director of Public Information Brian Thompson informed local Historic City News reporters that as part of the Flagler College Writers in Residence Program, poet Nin Andrews will read a selection of her poems on September 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Ringhaver Student Center.
Andrews is the author of Spontaneous Breasts, winner of the Pearl Chapbook Contest; Any Kind of Excuse, winner of the Kent State University chapbook contest; Why They Grow Wings, winner of the Gerald Cable Award, The Book of Orgasm and Midlife Crisis with Dick and Jane.
Andrews’ latest book, Southern Comfort, released in December 2009, was referred to on EntertainmentWeekly.com as “a superb volume for both dedicated readers of poetry and anyone looking for an apparent autobiography in poetic form.”
Andrews received her BA from Hamilton College and her MFA from Vermont College. She was the recipient of two Ohio Arts Council grants.
The poetry reading will be held in the Gamache-Koger Room at the Ringhaver Student Center, located at 50 Sevilla Street on the Flagler College campus in St. Augustine. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
