The technology required was purchased with proceeds from a federal grant, Commander Chuck Mulligan told local reporters.
“This is another tool that we can use to get information to and from the public on a variety of outstanding and cold case investigations,” Sheriff Shoar said. “The kiosk contains a video screen that is divided into three sections with ever changing information on a variety of topics.”
In order to achieve their crime prevention and wanted fugitive mission, the kiosks need to be installed in locations with large amounts of foot traffic. A kiosk has initially been installed at the St. Johns County Tax Collector’s Office and at the Courthouse. If you are a business owner interested in a kiosk for your high traffic location, contact Commander Chuck Mulligan at (904) 209-1550.
