Air travelers into Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St Augustine or flying from St Augustine (UST) to one of Frontier’s two new destinations announced by Historic City News this morning, may qualify for a special introductory fare as low as $49 each way from or to Philadelphia (PHL) or $59 each way from or to Chicago O’Hare (ORD).
According to comparison figures provided by the airline, the “industry average fare” for travel between UST-PHL would be about $192 each way; UST-ORD about $198 each way. No other airline provides scheduled commercial travel on either route. Averages were based on a Department of Transportation Origin and Destination Survey for the year ending with the Second Quarter, 2015, Frontier Airlines reported.
The new Frontier fare, outside of the introductory restrictions, is quoted as $69 for travel between St Augustine and Philadelphia; and $79 for travel between St Augustine and Chicago.
