Senator Hutson: 2016 Legislative Session
State Senator Travis Hutson
Florida Senate, District 6
Dear Historic City News readers:
As your Senator, I want to make sure you are always informed on the progress we are making with our agenda.
I have just finished the first of nine exciting weeks here in Tallahassee. With the legislative session now in full swing I am hard at work on the issues affecting our community.
I am excited to announce the passing of SB-158 entitled Identification Cards and Drivers Licenses. The passing of this bill provides that an individual who holds a lifetime fishing, hunting, or sportsman’s license or a lifetime boater safety identification card may have a symbol displaying that lifetime status added to the individual’s driver license or identification card, when the driver license or identification card is being issued, renewed, or replaced for a purpose other than solely including the symbol on the card (i.e., an address or name change).
A driver license or identification card that has a recreational symbol can be used as proof that the individual possesses the lifetime recreational license or card.
I recently received visits from ARC of Florida representatives Deborah Linton, David James, and Dixie Sanson, as well as members of the St. Augustine and St. Johns County Board of Realtors, North East Florida Association of Realtors, and the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce.
As always, thank you for the trust you have put in me as your Senator.
