19-year-old Jacob Sikes Kline surrenders to sheriff

More details today in connection with an armed home invasion that occurred in Ravenswood on Monday afternoon, January 25, 2016. Four arrests had already been made in this crime at an occupied residence located on West Jayce Way in St Augustine.

The 19-year-old son of St Augustine City Commissioner Nancy Sikes Kline, whose home at 15 Miruela Avenue on Davis Shores was firebombed less than two weeks ago, was identified as the individual who planned the robbery.

“Jacob Sikes Kline turned himself in late this afternoon and was charged with being a principal to a home invasion robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon,” Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News. “These charges constitute a first-degree felony and Kline remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond.”

According to statements taken from the four other defendants and developed during the investigation, Kline told them that the victims of the home invasion had previously “ripped him off”.

The victims, two men and a woman in their early 20’s, told detectives that at least three armed men entered their home and demanded their valuables. Two of the suspects wore masks while the third did not, according to the victims. The robbers fled with a cellphone along with car keys and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the victims.

The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit developed information that identified Larry Thomas Travis Jr., as the robber who did not wear a mask. The victims positively identified Travis. He was brought in for questioning and then arrested. Three other suspects were identified and arrested within the next week.

Previously charged were 18-year-old Sean Edmund Riggs, 21-year-old Larry Thomas Travis Jr., 20-year-old Ronald Tyrone Burch, and 19-year-old Marcus Theodore Lewis.

Riggs, Travis and Burch are charged with home invasion robbery while Lewis is charged with principle to home invasion robbery.
