Historic City News learned last week that beginner vintners and curious wine lovers are being invited to participate in a three-week course on the Art of Wine Making, starting April 12, at the St. Augustine Art Association.
Jim White, a craft vintner for over ten years, will instruct students on the step-by-step process of producing affordable, quality wine, from fermentation to bottling. Topics include: wines of the world; local and regional wines; aging, storing and serving; suppliers and market trends; identifying qualities of good wine; food pairings, and more.
“Small batches of great wine can be made right in your own home,” said White. “It’s easy, enjoyable and inexpensive, once you have the know-how.”
The class meets for three Tuesdays, April 12 – 26, 2016, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at 22 Marine Street. The cost is $35. Must be 21 years old to enroll.
Free parking is available throughout downtown after 5:00 p.m. daily. To register, call the St. Augustine Art Association at (904) 824-2310.
