Governor Rick Scott appointed 29-year-old Conrad to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former clerk, Cheryl Strickland. Conrad began serving the appointment on Friday, October 30, 2015. The appointment ends on January 2, 2017.
“I am humbled and honored to have the support of St. Johns County’s Representatives Paul Renner and Cyndi Stevenson as well as our State Senator, Travis Hutson,” Conrad told local reporters. “Each of them has worked tirelessly for this community and it is my hope to follow in the footsteps of true public servants, like them.”
Representative Stevenson added: “I am delighted to officially announce my support for Hunter Conrad as our Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. Hunter is just the type of innovative, energetic, and conservative leader that we need in government and in St. Johns County. I look forward to working with Hunter for many more years to come and hope you will join me in my support of him.”
