Malcolm Anthony, Ponte Vedra attorney and candidate for Circuit Judge, Seventh Judicial Circuit announced to Historic City News that he will be filing a formal complaint with the Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) regarding misconduct by his opponent in the judicial race, Judge Scott R. DuPont.
He states he will report five instances of misconduct by his opponent during this campaign. “Judge DuPont falsely accused me of traffic violation tickets I have never had. He even listed false information about me, my wife and one of my daughters on his website falsely showing that we had numerous arrests between us. This type of vicious attack on my reputation and then including my wife and child is not only disappointing, it is appalling, especially coming from a sitting circuit judge. He should know better,” said Mr. Anthony.
The Judicial Qualifications Commission is an independent agency created by the Florida Constitution solely to investigate alleged misconduct by Florida state judges. The hearing panel of JQC will review the case against the state judge and hear competing arguments from both sides. Once the JQC panel has concluded its hearings, it files its findings and recommendation for any discipline with the Florida Supreme Court.
This message was approved and paid for by Malcolm Anthony, non-partisan candidate for Circuit Judge, Seventh Judicial Circuit.
