Flagler College informed local Historic City News reporters that the new academic year will kick off Saturday, August 20th, when approximately 620 new first-year students move into campus residence halls.
There are also approximately 150 transfer students who will attend Flagler as classes begin on August 25th.
“Move-in Day marks the start of a week of new student orientation activities that are part of a program called Building Your Legacy,” Bobbie Stewart said. “New students represent 39 states, the U.S. territory Virgin Islands and 20 countries including Spain, Brazil, Guatemala, Germany, South Africa and Nigeria.”
Returning and new student’s top declared majors are Business, Psychology, Communication and Education.
To facilitate students’ move-in process and to ease traffic congestion, Valencia Street will be eastbound-only between 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The streets most affected will include Valencia, from Malaga to Cordova Streets; Sevilla, from Carrera to King Streets; Carrera, from Cordova to Riberia Streets; and Malaga, from King to Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
