When you volunteer your time, you will be part of some of best programs available in St Johns County. There are opportunities to help other residents, visitors to our area, as well as your own personal sense of accomplishment.

Lightner Museum
Volunteer opportunities are available at the Lightner Museum for those who genuinely love interacting with the public and who want to make a positive experience for visitors. Our volunteers play an integral role in our day-to-day operations in the Museum. Click here for the volunteer application. Internships are also available throughout the year. The National Park Service
Did you know that you have two National Monuments in your own back yard, and that they need your help? Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments are always looking for friendly, personable VIPs (Volunteers in Parks) who have a passion for sharing our history and making our visitors’ experiences memorable. We need VIPs to help bring the parks to life with our Living History program and to staff visitor centers and welcome stations. Fort Mose Historic State Park
Fort Mose is looking for volunteers with skill sets and interests ranging from historical reenactors, event coordinators and museum guides to gardeners. The St. Augustine Historical Society
The Research Library is looking for volunteers with computer experience to help archive their photo collection. Volunteers scan and document the images so they can be added to the online catalog. Other computer related projects are available as well. The Research Library is located in the Segui Kirby-Smith House (the old public library) on Aviles Street.
