According to a media release received by Historic City News this morning, a 38-year old Duval County man was arrested on charges of burglary to a dwelling and petit theft yesterday morning.
Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence in the 700 block of Ponte Vedra Blvd. at 9:00 a.m. A cleaning crew was at the home and discovered a male subject in a closet of a bedroom. The subject told crew members that he was there for maintenance work and then walked out of a rear door towards the beach.
Based on information provided by witnesses, the deputy located a subject matching the description walking south on the beach. He was secured and brought back to the residence where he was positively identified.
The suspect allegedly entered the home through an opened rear door and then took a soft drink. The suspect also told the deputy that he ate some ice cream while inside the home.
The suspect, identified as Joseph Blaine McFaul, 38, 1850 Main St., Jacksonville, was booked into the County Jail where he remains in lieu of $4,500 bond.
