Due to increasingly dry conditions in the area, St. Johns County Fire Rescue has reported to Historic City News local reporters that residents must use caution and remain aware of the daily weather conditions in order to protect themselves from the danger of brush fires.
“We’ve seen an increase in fire danger and brush fire responses,” St. Johns County spokesman Jeremy Robshaw said.
Although a burn ban is not in effect for St. Johns County, fire rescue officials strongly urge residents to delay any outdoor burning due to the dry conditions.
“St. Johns County provides curbside weekly yard debris pick-up,” Robshaw said. “Residents are encouraged to use this service in lieu of any outdoor burning.”
