Historic City News reporters learned that the pilot and at least one other occupant of a local aircraft that left Northeast Florida Regional Airport Tuesday, has crashed during the second leg of a charter flight yesterday morning as it was preparing to land at Gary Indiana Jet Center.

ATV driver crashes into passing truck
Shortly before 6:00 p.m. this evening, Historic City News was notified by Kevin Kelshaw that Traffic Homicide Investigators with the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred in the area of Woodlawn Road and Begonia Street.

Happy 340th birthday Castillo de San Marcos
Yesterday was a special day at Castillo de San Marcos, when the National Monument celebrated its groundbreaking in St Augustine 340-years ago; according to an announcement received by Historic City News from park guide, Jesse Olbrich.
Oakes: Absentee ballots are in the mail
Although she tells Historic City News that she is expecting about 30,000 absentee ballots to be mailed to St Johns County voters before the November 6 Presidential Election, Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, reported that the first 9,000 will be receiving their ballots later this week.
Real estate licensees warned of scam
Ken Lawson, Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, alerted local Historic City News reporters that licensed real estate professionals, and others in St Johns County licensed by the Department, may be the target of an attempted identity theft scam.
