Although she tells Historic City News that she is expecting about 30,000 absentee ballots to be mailed to St Johns County voters before the November 6 Presidential Election, Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, reported that the first 9,000 will be receiving their ballots later this week.
“They are in the mail,” Oakes told Historic City News editor Michael Gold.
You still have a few days left to register to vote. The books close on October 9, 2012.
In order to assist last minute registrants, Oakes will keep her office open extended hours on Saturday October 6th from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm and again on Tuesday October 9th from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
Early voting will begin for the General Election on October 27 and continue daily until November 3, 2012.
