Ribbon cut to re-open San Sebastian Bridge
City officials stood with city and county politicians during a Florida Department of Transportation ribbon cutting ceremony this morning; next to a handful of people who work for a living from design firm GAI Consultants and contractor Archer Western who marked the reopening of the San Sebastian Bridge.
Hastings man convicted on federal drug charges
Yesterday, a federal jury found 36-year-old Frank Freitas Higginbotham of Hastings guilty of one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of distribution of methamphetamine.

Student artists display work in Picasso exhibit
The St Johns County Education Foundation reported to Historic City News that artwork created by nine local students has been selected by a panel of professional judges to hang with the PICASSO Art and Arena Exhibition at the St Augustine Visitor Center.

Law enforcement leaders hold summit with DeSantis
Historic City News has learned that representatives from the State Attorney’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the St Johns, Flagler, Putnam and Volusia County sheriff’s offices joined Congressman Ron DeSantis in St Augustine yesterday to discuss law enforcement services.

Air TASER alternative to police shootings
St Johns County Sheriff’s Public Information Sergeant, Chuck Mulligan, informed local Historic City News reporters that an air TASER, or other electronic incapacitation device, has provided deputy sheriffs with a less lethal alternative to shooting since 1999.
