Letter to Editor pays off for Michigan couple
A couple planning their September wedding in St Augustine, who first reported their plight to Historic City News after the San Marco Avenue Howard Johnson refused to honor a block of reserved rooms for family and friends in the wedding party, is receiving a few extra gifts for their shower — thanks to members of the St Augustine Attractions Association.
Two in custody after morning shooting
Shortly before 6:00 a.m., Historic City News received word that Deputy Joey Romer and Deputy Gerald Thompson approached a 2012 KIA Sorento in the parking lot of the Quality Inn located at 2310 SR-16, to investigate a report that the vehicle was stolen.

Road work begins on SR-16 at Lewis Speedway
Laurie Sanderson reported to Historic City News that last week the Florida Department of Transportation began a project to re-establish a wetland along SR-16 at Lewis Speedway.
Lincolnville CRA Open House Monday
City spokesman Paul Williamson reported to Historic City News that there will be an open house regarding the proposed Community Redevelopment plan for Lincolnville on Monday, February 25 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Willie Galimore Center located at 399 Riberia Street in St Augustine.
